Adult Partial Hospital Program (PHP) (Chester)
The Partial Program provides the close structure and support of
inpatient rehabilitation in a less-restrictive environment. The PHP
encompasses all the intensity and structure of our Inpatient programming
while including an additional component: the participant’s ongoing life.
Throughout the treatment experience clinicians prepare the participant
for the challenges faced outside the facility: (Home life,
relationships, employment, cravings to use drugs or alcohol, peers and
community, etc.) The clients are encouraged to discuss problems
encountered, anticipate pending issues, and strengthen coping skills to
overcome barriers to recovery.
In addition to treating the primary substance abuse diagnosis, KeyStone
Center’s PHP offers many focused activities to assist participants with
co-occurring disorders. Each participant works individually with our
treatment care team to design a personalized treatment plan that
identifies and develops areas of needed growth. Medication management
education, coping skills and education on the effects of co-occurring
disorders are included in the focus of care.
Throughout the day participants attend several groups to assist people
along all stages of recovery. Individual and family sessions are by
appointment. All Partial patients are required to attend outside AA or
NA meetings and share their experiences and perceptions with the group.
Our location a ½ block from KeyStone Center’s inpatient treatment center
allows for efficient transfer of treatment when an individual needs a
higher level of care. Our integration of IOP (Intensive Outpatient
treatment) and Outpatient care with our partial programs allows for
continuity of care as individuals move through the recovery process. Key
Recovery Chester recognizes that for some who need this level of care
attendance at a daytime partial program is difficult or impossible to
schedule due to work, parental responsibilities or other life
circumstances. To that end, we also offer an evening partial program to
meet the needs of the community. The evening program is tailored to meet
the specific needs of the evening client, and covers all the topics and
issues of the day program.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) (Chester and Ambler)
Key Recovery's IOP is designed as an Early Recovery program focusing
on the development of relapse prevention strategies and coping skills
that a person needs to secure a sober, productive lifestyle. Our
therapists assist each patient with understanding the contributing
factors to their current situation and implementing the changes
necessary to begin the process of recovery.
Our treatment plans will include: Family and significant other
involvement; Planning for leisure time activities; Contact with
referents, employers, or EAPs; and Adjunct services, such as referrals
to community agencies, if needed. Individual sessions with the therapist
throughout the program are a vital element in the treatment process and
are scheduled with the assigned therapist.
Because a patient's progression into addiction can be precipitated by,
strengthened by, or complicated by a mental health disorder, Key
Recovery employs a dynamic and multifaceted approach for the Dual
Diagnosis population. Psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring
are addressed through referrals made by Key Recovery's clinical staff.
Issues such as medication management; identifying signs and symptoms of
the disorder; understanding how each disorder will impact the other; and
acceptance of the dual diagnosis are addressed. Aftercare plans include
appointments for ongoing monitoring of the disorders.
Length of stay is determined by severity of a person's problem and
clinical necessity for treatment. Completion of treatment plan
objectives and acceptance of a continuing care plan are required for
successful discharge from the program.

Adolescent Services
Adolescent Partial Program (Chester)
KeyStone Center is proud to offer a unique and exciting Partial Program
for Adolescents. Most partial programs for teens meet during the day,
and require students to miss their home school’s educational
opportunities. And the educational elements offered through most partial
programs are rudimentary at best.
KeyStone Center has created a partial program that allows our patients
to remain in school and receive their much needed education while still
providing the environment needed for significant recovery work.
Members meet four days each week for a total of 16 hours. Individualized
treatment plans address each patient’s unique needs and focus on
substance abuse and co-occurring disorders as appropriate, and focus on
coping skills and the development of support systems for recovery.
Our effective, ethical and efficient treatment utilizes random urine
screens to enhance accountability. Our treatment team works to meet the
individual needs of each adolescent who is referred. We include with
appropriate consent: parents, school districts, probation officers, and
other participants in the treatment process and pride ourselves on our
effective communication with all those who share in the young person’s
care.
The Adolescent Partial provides continuous treatment throughout a
connected milieu. Adolescents continue their work through all levels of
outpatient care with the same therapist allowing for greater therapeutic
rapport. Important relapse prevention issues such as emotions, peer
relationships, family of origin, and triggers are examples of topics
addressed during an adolescent’s treatment.
Through the integration of group and individual therapy our patients are
able to actively process and utilize skills learned throughout the
treatment process. Teens identify and implement alternative coping
strategies to substance use to deal with emotions and daily life. By
experiencing intensive treatment four times weekly while negotiating
their daily life, patients are able to utilize new skills and then
process the outcomes of these skills in a supportive environment.

Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) (Chester and Ambler)
Key Recovery's adolescent intensive Outpatient Program is designed to
meet the complex needs of today's adolescents. The program meets
adolescents where they are in the process of change. The adolescent IOP
is an excellent option for step down from Partial Hospital or
Residential Treatment settings. Comprehensive assessment is utilized to
develop an understanding of the severity of the adolescent's drug and
alcohol problems and to assess the strengths of each individual admitted
into the program. These strengths are then utilized to develop strength
based treatment plan goals and develop new skills to aid in the process
of change.
Areas addressed include but are not limited to the following:
Introduction to the disease concept, Consequences, identifying triggers,
developing sober leisure activities, developing sober support,
introduction to the 12 step concept, and coping with family/school
issues. The group sessions aid in the development of current strengths
and how the client can utilize these strengths to change problematic
behavior patterns related to drug and alcohol use and co-occurring
disorders.
Key recovery addresses the complexity of substance problems and
co-occurring disorders through the group therapy process and scheduled
individual therapy. Family therapy is encouraged and can be scheduled
through the adolescent's primary therapist. Bi-weekly contact (with
client consent) with family members, referral sources, school districts,
Student Assistance Professionals, the legal system, and other involved
parties is our standard.
Length of stay is variable and is determined by the individual's
progress, needs, and the service meeting clinical necessity. Completion
of treatment is based on successful completion of treatment goals and
the development of an aftercare plan.
